Bosley – Bosley physicians have been performing hair restoration surgery for 33 years. Their site states that “…a great looking finished hair transplant result demands that the doctor performing the procedure have specific, meticulous skills and an artistic sense refined through a full-time commitment to hair restoration.” A very quick summary of the procedure is that healthy, growing hair follicles from the back and side of the head are transplanted to the front and/or top of the scalp to fill in thinning areas. The cost varies depending on how many grafts or procedures you require; the company does offer financing which can range from $70-$310 per month.
Hairclub for Men – Hairclub’s transplant process takes hair from the “donor area” at the back of the scalp and transplanting it where needed – in groups of only one, two or three hairs at a time (as opposed to using grafts or plugs, which they state don’t work as well, are outdated and can look artificial). The site does not offer costs, instead providing an 888 number and a free “$150 value” hair analysis.
Medical Hair Restoration – this company boasts 46 locations across the United States. Their procedure involves removing small sections (grafts) from the “donor section” and placing them in thinning areas. To provide a natural appearance, “single-hair follicular units are placed at precise but varied angles in the frontal hair zone to create a soft, natural looking hairline.” No costs are available via their site, which instead provide a request form and the offer of a free DVD.
Hair Transplant Network – This site offers a network of physicians that can perform hair transplantation surgery for you. As they are careful to state and as we’ve noted above, please proceed with caution and care as you go about selecting a physician or location for a hair transplant procedure.
